I’m more of a rustic disheveled girl, than prim and proper…with a shambles of a flat for proof, but occasionally there is a piece that makes me want to live in a grand place with luxe furnishings. Heck, maybe I’ll just get these lights from Rothschild & Bickers anyway and call it eclectic. I think they are so fabulous, from the colour of the glass ( i have a bit of a thing for scandanavian smoked glass and the like), to the twist of mixing fabric detailing with glass. They look like the ultimate in luxury, but I think they are actually really well priced at just over £200. Sure it isn’t cheap, but a light from Habitat costs nearly that and this is so much better.
The duo of Victoria Rothschild and Mark Bickers started after they graduated from the Royal college of Art six years ago. With their range of signature products and bespoke service (for the likes of Ted Baker stores) they combine traditional glass techniques with modern design working in lighting and other interior products. Best of all, all their lights are handmade in the UK, at London Glassworks.
